Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Mama Mia" Deserves A Better Life
Mia was a very pregnant Pit Bull mix that we felt compelled to help. She has raised her puppies and is now ready for a home on her own.
She was in danger of being killed at a shelter out of our area. We tried desperately to find a local Rescue who would take her but to no avail; Rescues are at capacity.
Mia’s story is appalling and heartbreaking.
The first time Mia found herself in the shelter was this past December. Animal Control found her on the street with a chain around her neck dragging a cinder block. Sadly, she was reclaimed by her owner.
The second time she was confiscated from her owner by Animal Control. Mia was found in an outside pen, in the cold, pregnant and standing knee deep in her own feces. The owner agreed to surrender Mia to avoid any criminal charges. She was removed from the property and brought to the shelter.
One of our volunteers went to visit with Mia and found her to be very gentle and kind. Mia is two years old and weighs about 55 pounds. She is very sweet and likes to nuzzle her head against you.
Mama Mia is a wonderful dog. Whomever adopts this girl will be lucky. Mia is very playful and does well with the other dogs in the house. She loves to come up on the bed and snuggle.
