Hi! Luna here. I have to tell you right off the bat that I’m special. First, I lived through REALLY bad heartworms. They were even in my lungs and I coughed constantly. ARF’N saved me, and got me shots for it, and I had to be very quiet and still for 4 whole months. F-O-U-R months! No dog is better crate-trained than I am! I love to play, and it was so hard being calm all that time. On July 1, 2013 I was declared entirely well, and FREE to be myself and run and play. I COULDN’T WAIT.
But that’s not the only reason I’m special. I can wag my tail so hard that it thumps both sides of my body. Really. Who else can do that? My foster mom & dad laugh when I thump, which just makes me wag more. I love people.
I also love dogs. There was one dog I didn’t like – I don’t know whether it was her fault or mine. OK – I say it was HER fault. I was new in her home, and she probably didn’t like it, but she coulda showed a little more courtesy. But now I just can’t promise I’ll be friends with all dogs.
I don’t know whether I like cats, but Mom says she’s nervous about it, so I may not meet one. I’m not mean, just curious and exuberant. I like that – exuberant!
I love toys, and I can chew on a Nylabone for a LONG time and be happy. And Kongs with frozen Pnut Butter – YEEEAHHH!!! And I love tug-of-war, and squeaky toys. Well, sometimes purely in the interest of science I try to find out where the heck that squeak comes from, and I find it! I won’t ruin the secret, but I will tell you that there’s nothing alive in there.
I also love walks, and I’m really good on a leash. I used to strain on the leash when I saw a tortoise or a bunny, but I AM a dog ya know and I’m MUCh better now.
I do all my “business” outside, but I’ll have to whisper this – just a few times when I was new at my foster home I had an accident. I try so hard to please my foster mom & dad, and they didn’t like this. But they were patient with me, and now I understand to always go outside.
I’ll admit I’m not entirely and completely perfect, but I try awful hard! When people love me, I return their love with loyalty and trying my very best! Mom and Dad say I really am a sweet girl, and very special! I told you so!
