Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Ooooh! It feels so good to be held again! After nearly a month on the run in the city on my own, after being abandoned on my porch after my family left town, after being chased and terrified, wet and cold, to be held and loved again means the world to me. My name is Frieda, but you can call me “Precious,” if you like. I will answer to anything you call me, really, because I just crave the love and attention of people. Only about 14lbs., I’m a petite little Maltipoo, just about 6 years old. I’m a little powder-puff of curly hair, with nuthin’ but a nub of a tail.
Now that I’m fostering with The Animal Support Project, I’m enjoying good food, a clean bed, and all the hugs and lovin’ a little Maltipoo can handle. I’m learning to trust again and showing my foster-mom how grateful I am for the opportunity to be a house-dog again. Microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, spayed and an absolute superstar at my house-breaking skills, I am a dream of a little dog, just waiting to find the home that’s meant for me. I will ask only that you be patient with me when it comes to mixing me with other animals. First of all, I have always been a little bit over-zealous when it comes to hunting little animals. So it will be better for me if I live in a home with no cats and nobody smaller than me in it. And after being chased by big dogs in the city while I was a stray, I need some time to warm up to larger dogs and to feel safe around them. I hope you will understand.
I love playing fetch with tennis balls, chasing my squeaky toy, and leaping up onto people’s laps for a cuddle. I’ll lick your face and dance all over you just to tell you how special I think you are. I’m a good girl in the house, that’s for sure. I’m not a chewer, although I do enjoy a little dental bone now and then to keep my teeth sparkly. I only ask, when it’s time to eat, will you stay near so I can feel safe and enjoy my meal in your presence? You see, after so much loss, I need to be sure I won’t lose you!
Life is so much better now and getting better by the day. The only thing missing in my life is YOU! Pretty-please call me soon so we can meet, ok? 518-727-8591
