Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATED BIO 06/22/2013: COLE is an adorable 12 month old Yorkshire Terrier who weighs 9.8 lbs; he is being fostered in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Here’s what Cole had to say after his recent major surgery to repair the two breaks in his front leg:
Cole here. Well folks, Friday was interesting ~ they took the (very bright pink) cast off and removed the stiches. Boy, was that fun…..NOT! Doc. said I was healing good, but decided to put a splint back on (deep red, much better) for another 10 days. Can you imagine the embarrassment of a good-looking boy like me wearing a pink cast? What were they thinking?? They said since I am a puppy and hard to keep settled down, I will need this splint for 3 more weeks. They tried putting me in my kennel to relax. You would be surprised how much noise one little yorkie can make while trying to bite his way out of his wire kennel. It worked. They let me out when they realized that putting me in there did not relax me. My front leg still hurts me while it is healing, but I am tuff and can handle it. That’s all for now -I will check in soon.
Oh. One more thing. My surgery costs UYR a lot of money and they are asking for donations so that if another dog like me needs them, they can help out. Please, can you spare a dollar to send to UYR? They have sure been nice to me, and my Foster Mom & Dad drove 10 hours to pick me up in another state. How nice is that?
UPDATE 6-20-13: Thankfully we were able to save Cole's leg. He had his surgery on 6-11-13 and is recovering so well, he is running around like nothing happened. Cole had two breaks in his front leg. The surgeon plated and screwed his front leg bones so the bones will heal properly. He also was neutered, microchipped and had some baby teeth pulled. He is going to be hard to give up because he is so loveable. He loves to be near you and gives lots of kisses.
UPDATED BIO 06/09/2013: MEET COLE! He is an adorable 12 month old Yorkshire Terrier who weighs 9.8 lbs; he s being fostered in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Cole had radiographs done on Saturday and his left front leg is broken in two places; he has a splint on now to avoid further injury, and will see a surgeon tomorrow to talk about potential surgery to fix the fractures. Please watch for updates on Cole as so
