Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I URGENTLY NEED A NEW FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME BEFORE DECEMBER 11! She needs an adult-only home. Please contact us if you can help!
**Many thanks to Jenn Wilson at letmeshootyourpet.net for taking professional pictures of Misty Blue!**
Misty (who answers to Blue) is an incredibly smart and very loving pup. She is likely a German Shepherd/Chow and she weighs approximately 45 lbs. She is approximately 3 years old.
She came to us as a stray but, we quickly learned that she has definitely been in a home before. She knew already to not get on furniture and has had no problems with destructive behaviour.
She loves her treats and is eager to please - she has a great sit, down, stay, speak and shake. She picks up things quickly and is very food motivated and easy to teach. She's learning leash manners remarkably quickly, especially with the assistance of the Halti.
She's very friendly and loves anyone she meets. She barks at strangers at the door but quiets quickly and immediately becomes welcoming. She is playful with spurts of energy but, would be just as happy cuddling up at your feet and taking a nap. She loves car rides and has no problem riding in the backseat. Nothing is better to her than a stuffie or bone, which she will present every so often to her foster parents.
She seems to pay little attention to the cat in her foster home but instead, focuses her attention to making sure she knows where her foster parents are at all times, even if it means bounding up and down the stairs multiple times. While on walks, rabbits and other prey will catch her attention but, it is easy enough to get her to sit and to redirect her attention.
She has been crated while her foster parents are away for the day and at night and, after a little whining at first, she settles in quietly. With consistent use, she should have no problem with it.
A home with an enclosed yard would be ideal to let her run and play.
She is very loyal, keen to please, and extremely loving, she would make a great family pet!
Misty Blue is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. Her adoption donation is $375.
