Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Hidalgo - They named me Hidalgo after I was rescued from Houston’s Hidalgo Park. I was very hungry and in bad shape. My fur was matted and my eyes were infected. Luckily, some caring people from Barrio Dogs brought me to the vet, where I received the care I desperately needed. I am now up to date on all my shots, neutered, microchipped and my eyes have healed. Although I had heartworms, I am being treated for them. I have a shiny, light blond coat and bright brown eyes.
I am living in boarding right now. At first, I was too frightened to even come out of my kennel, but every day I come out of my shell a little bit more. I enjoy my playtimes with the other dogs, and have discovered that I also like people very much.
I am about two years old and weigh about 60 pounds. I’m an American White Shepherd but on the smaller side with a graceful walk and a gentle nature. I’ve started training, and my humans say I’m a “natural” because I am eager to please and will wait for commands. I’ve learned how to walk on a leash and I absolutely love going for walks! I also enjoy relaxing in the shade and getting my head scratched.
I have a new lease on life and I am ready for a loving home where someone will take care of me. Like many of the dogs who are suffering at Hidalgo Park, I know that given the chance, I would be a great companion and pet.
