Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cindy Lou, a 5 year old red miniature longhair dachshund, was rescued from a home with 14 dachshunds. The owner, an elderly person, had recently died and the family was left to find homes for all the dogs. Our group was able to accept 5 of the dogs.
The first order of business was to bathe and groom Cindy, cutting mats from her coat, cleaning her ears, and trimming her nails. Cindy's nails were so overgrown they had impacted into the pads of her feet, causing them to bleed when she walked.
Cindy was then taken to our rescue vet. The vet cleaned her teeth and removed 5 severely infected teeth. Cindy was also immunized, spayed, and microchipped for permanent identification.
Cindy will need some time for her body to heal before going to her forever home. She is a remarkably sweet and loving dog and her coat is long and full. We believe she will thrive in good foster care and be ready for a new home around November 10th.
