My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Coco is a sweet 8 year old Maltese whose wonderful life has been turned upside down in the past year. This playful, happy snowball who only weighs about 7 lbs has been loved and well cared for throughout her life. Last year, almost overnight, Coco lost her sight. Doctors aren’t 100% sure of why but believe it is a degenerative condition that has changed her forever. Coco’s owners have tried to care for their baby but they have 2 active children who are much too young to understand Coco’s special needs and condition. This once happy dog now is confined to a small living area to help calm her anxiety from the children’s play and to keep her safe. With broken hearts, her owners know they must give her up to a new home for everyone’s well-being. They are hopeful that we will be able to find her a new home so that she will not need to go to a shelter or worse. Coco, despite her blindness, does well in getting around places that become familiar to her. She loves to sit in your lap and be cuddled. She is very healthy in every other respect and would be a perfect companion for someone who enjoys a quieter lifestyle and home.
