UPDATED BIO 04/10/2013: MEET TEDDY! Teddy is 2 years old and weighs 9 lbs 10 oz. He is being fostered in Leesburg, Florida, north of Orlando.
Below is what Teddy had to say about himself recently:
Hi, my name is Teddy. I have been in my new foster home for two weeks now. I have been told by my FM that I am the sweetest, cutest, best little fellow ever. I hardly bark, I am such a good eater and sleeper, and I am friendly to everyone (people and dogs). I even like the cats that live here, only they don't play with me. I love to play fetch with my foster mom and dad and tug-of-war with my new fur sisters, which is the best game ever. That's probably because I win some of the time. Here's a video of
Teddy winning tug-of-war.
My health is really good now. I have special food that we get from the vet. It tastes really good and I always eat it all up. I don't require any other special care other than some good-tasting syrup I get two times a day. It helps me to go potty, but the vet said I will probably be off that sometime soon. I love my foster family, but I am hoping for a furever home and family. I know you would love to have a dog like me because I really am pretty terrific. You won't find a more loving, almost perfect dog. I will sit on your lap and cuddle up with you for as long as you let me. When you come home I will give you the biggest greet ever and be your best friend forever. Don’t you want to take me home with you?
INITIAL BIO 03/20/2013: MEET TEDDY! Teddy is 2 years old and weighs 9 lbs 10 oz. He is being fostered in Leesburg, Florida, north of Orlando.
Teddy had a loving mom and dad; sadly his mom recently passed away from cancer and his dad, who works 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day, was unable to give him the time and attention Teddy needed. He knew Teddy needed a family that had more time for him and/or another dog to play with. It was with a heavy heart he surrendered Teddy to UYR.
Though Teddy has only been with his Foster Mom a short time he has already shown what a sweet, lovable dog he is. He will sit on FM's lap for as long as he can. He plays fetch and likes to tussle with his new yorkie pals. Teddy’s perfect home would be one with a fenced-in backyard as he loves to run and play, and another little companion dog close to his size and age to play with. Teddy was used to being with his previous owner 24/7, so it would be nice if he weren’t left alone for long hours.
Teddy has already been neutered and micro-chipped. He is house-trained and will use the potty pad or go outside to do his business. He walks nicely on a leash and hardly barks. He had his first introduction to cats and seems to not mind them.
Teddy has had two surgeries in the past to remove bladder stones; the second surgery was most likely due to the liver shunt, which was surgically corrected. He is doing great on his RX food, which he may likely need to eat for the rest of his life. He currently is taking Lactulose twice daily ~ other than that, he needs no other special care. He is now a very healthy, young dog who should live a long healthy life.
Teddy is hoping for a furever family to once again share their life with him. He has a lot of love to give to a family lucky enough to adopt him.
