Update July 17: Isis is doing fantastic in foster care. She can now reliably walk on leash, has been out to watch local baseball games and will even heel alongside her foster mom! She is still weary of petting and handling, but will stay near her foster family in the house. She is quiet enough to successfully live in an apartment setting, and has even had a couple 'sleep overs' with other residents of the apartment when her foster home has gone away for a weekend.
Isis is a petite female retriever mix that was pulled out of a hoarding situation with 150+ dogs on a single property. She was being housed in a stall with another couple dogs in a barn for her entire life. We were told by her previous caretakers that she is approx 3 years old. She entered our foster program in the beginning of April, and is learning everything that house pets do from scratch. She is very shy and reserved, though does have a streak of curiosity within her foster home. She would be best matched to a quiet home with access to a fully fenced yard, as she is not yet able to be walked on a leash. Her foster home is working on getting her used to the leash, and once she is comfortable we will start leash walks with her. She does well with other dogs so long as they are not too in her face, though she has yet to get the confidence to play with them yet.
