Meet Karl! Very sweet boy, but sort of shy and reserved; slow and steady is the relationship he likes. He enjoys human companionship, but more at arm's reach. He enjoys it when his humans pet him, but on his terms. Karl is FIV positive but don't let that stop you from adopting this cute boy!
Cats with FIV can live for many happy, healthy years with you. It means if he is exposed to a feline disease, he could be more likely to get it because his immune system is not as strong as a non-FIV cat. So basically he needs to be kept inside, fed a quality diet, and taken to the vet once/ twice every year for an exam and shots. FIV is not transmissible to humans or dogs and is only transmissible to other cats through saliva via gestation, potentially via nursing her kittens, or cat bite wounds so it would be pretty rare for a FIV+ neutered cat to give it to another cat. You can read more about FIV here: http://www.vet.cornell.edu/fhc/brochures/fiv.html
Karl is in foster care. To meet him or adopt, please email adoptions@orphananimalrescue.org

Orphan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc. is a no-kill, volunteer-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to changing the lives of homeless pets and helping people in need in NE WI.
We are comprised of a small network of foster-care homes with a humble Adoption Center in Neenah. Our focus is providing quality, personalized care to these pets. We take in abandoned, sometimes neglected and/or abused homeless animals, primarily from other rescues and shelters. We care for these pets until they are adopted, no matter how long it takes to find them a wonderful forever home.
All donations go directly to the pets: to buy the food, supplies, medications and veterinary treatments for the homeless animals in our care. To be part of the difference, please visit our website: www.orphananimalrescue.org.
