Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATED BIO 06/12/2013: TIGER is a 4 year old male yorkie who weighs in at a whopping 3.6 lbs; he is being fostered in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Tiger says “ All I’m sayin’ is…… I’m torn. I love my foster parents – they’re great, but, I really, really am ready for a home of my own. I would be a great guard dog ~ I mean it! I could fool anyone. They would see this tiny dog, but, boy, I always know what’s going on. I follow FM and FD around to make sure everything gets done, and it’s funny, but every time they sit down to rest – I need to rest, too. Right on their laps!
As for my medical situation – ’forgetaboutit’! The vet says the best thing for me is to just take one pill a day and eat a low protein diet. I can do that. My bags are packed - I’m ready to go -the ball is in your court! (so-to-speak). Come on, you know you want me. Hey, remember one thing though…..since I’m so itty bitty, I have to go where there are grown people only, no kids!
Note from Foster Parents: Teddy has been diagnosed Microvascular Dysplasia, which affects his liver and it just means that he needs to be on a daily inexpensive immune system booster, and a low-protein diet. He will need to have bloodwork done at least once a year. Read about MVD here..... http://www.acvs.org/AnimalOwners/HealthConditions/SmallAnimalTopics/HMD/.
UPDATED BIO 05/09/2013: TIGER is a 4 year old 3 lb 10 oz little yorkie boy; he is being fostered in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Tiger here……with an update. Well, some medical decisions have been made by those vet doctors that were scratching their heads just a few weeks ago. They tell me I may have something called Microvascular Dysplasia, but what the heck? I don’t feel sick?! MVD affects my liver and it just means that I need to be on a daily inexpensive immune system booster, and a low-protein diet. I will need to have bloodwork done at least once a year. Read about MVD here..... http://www.acvs.org/AnimalOwners/HealthConditions/SmallAnimalTopics/HMD/
All those big words above came from this really smart doctor, I have no idea what he said. I can also tell you this…………… I feel GOOD!! I will be altered and have my teeth cleaned on May 30th and after that, I will be ready to go to my forever home, whoever those lucky people may be – yahoo! UPDATED BIO 04/30/2013: TIGER is a 4 year old 3 lb 10 oz little yorkie boy; Tiger is being fostered in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Tiger here. It has been four weeks now that I have been in my foster home, and the vets are all scratching their heads, trying to decide what to do about my liver issue. In the meantime, they have scheduled what they call a neuter, (whatever that is) and a teeth cleaning. I think I am going to escape surgery on the liver problem (whew!) and I will let you know the status as soon as I know. I am feeling fine and am having a great time with my foster parents and the other three girls here. I think this must be Heaven ~ me and three female yorkies, haha! I have yet to figure out why I must wear this belly band all the time. Anyway that’s it for now, watch for updates as soon as I know them..............
INITIAL BIO 04/12/2013: MEET TIGER! He is a 4 year old 3 lb 10 oz little yorkie boy; Tiger is being fostered in Mount Pleasant, SC.
Tiger was surrendered by his owners because they were unable to care for him. Tiger has a potential liver issue and has had the appropriate testing -we are awaiting the results of this testing which will determine the nature of the problem. Tiger is a happy little boy who is great fun to be around. He loves to snuggle, and is a quiet little boy. It will be at least one month before Tiger will be ready to be adopted, however, we are currently taking adoption applications for him.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to Tiger's tiny size, he can only be adopted into an adult home. Please do not apply to adopt Tiger if you have children.
