Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Howie - Howie was hanging out and running around the parking lot at the Gulfgate HEB in Houston in April 2013. He seemed to be looking for a friendly face. Everyone was afraid of him and steered clear but a Barrio Dogs’ volunteer couldn't help but walk up to him and give him a pat on the head and tell him he was a good boy. He did not have a collar, was infested with fleas and had a bad eye infection and a few scars.
After the volunteer finished her shopping, Howie was still out there. She offered him a dog treat and he immediately sat for it. He followed her to her car and as soon as she opened the door, he jumped in and took a seat, ready to go. We think Howie was probably dumped at the HEB by his former owner.
Howie has been fully vetted and is scheduled to be spayed. He weighs 70 pounds and is heartworm negative. He loves attention and plays well with our volunteer’s female pit. Our volunteer who rescued him named him Howie E. Basket in honor of the HEB where he was found. For more information about Howie, contact us info@barriodogs.org
