From sea to shining sea, these pups are cute as can be, with personalities to match.

The States litter got very lucky. Their mother was supposed to be a temporary petsitting visitor, done as a favor to a friend. Well, that was over a year ago, and that “friend” is long gone now. Once she dropped off her dog with her friend, she decided she would rather get the apartment that didn’t allow pets and leave her friend to deal with the consequences.

Well, that friend had an unfixed male dog at home and….. guess what happened?

Puppies! Lots and lots of puppies!

But thankfully for these pups, their mom’s new owner found out about New Lease on Life’s Better Beginnings program just in time. And a quick phone call later, the pups and mom were whisked off for shots and dewormings, and most important of all, spays and neuters!

Now everyone is fixed and happier for it, especially Mom. And the pups are ready to start their new lives with their new families.

These little ones have been very well socialized. They have been handled by kids from the time they were itty bitty. They also love other dogs, and right now they’re even living in the Cat Room at the shelter!

We believe the pups are Doberman/Australian Shepherd mixes. Based on their parents’ sizes, we’re expecting the pups to be around 60 pounds as adults, so potential adopters should plan on a fairly large dog when they’re all grown up.

The pups have not yet started housebreaking, but with a little time and patience, we’re sure they’ll pick it up quickly. We recommend crate training as the easiest way to housebreak, and we’ll be happy to give you some pointers.

You can meet the pups at the shelter any time during adoption hours, Thursday through Sunday 5 to 8pm, or call 330-397-8270 to schedule an appt for another day or time. The pups have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed and flea treated, so they’re ready to join your family right away.
