Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
What Zeke needs more than anything in this world is a forever home to call his own. Because of his special needs, we are willing to forego our adoption fee for the right match for him. We would be grateful to accept any donation you'd like to make to our rescue, but this will not be mandatory.
Zeke is a 4 year old, male red Doberman Pincher. He's a wonderful dog and a real sweetie. Zeke has something called Wobbler's Syndrome. His X-rays show a compression on his spine at C3 and C4 up in his neck. Although very fit and not in any pain, Zeke does fall down on occasion and cannot do stairs. A few stairs off of a deck and such is fine, but a full flight would be too risky for him. Zeke walks well, runs on occasion and his mobility is fine, but he does drag his feet and can easily lose his balance.
He has been evaluated by a vet and a professional trainer and both agree that he is comfortable and very adoptable. Because of his limitations, Zeke would be happier with a small yard to hang out in for exercise rather than long walks. His favorite thing is to lie in the grass and chew on his Kong toy. He is also a big fan of petting and affection.
Zeke is terrific in a crate and his new family would need to use a crate at least in the beginning to help his transition. He is tolerant of other dogs but should be in a one-dog household. This is partly because of his limitations but also because he can bully.
He's absolutely gorgeous and VERY affectionate with his humans. He is probably ideal for a single person or a couple, but no young children as they might be too much for him. Actually, an older person would be perfect as he really doesn't need a lot of exercise.
Please feel free to direct any specific medical questions to Dr. Stillman, as he is well acquainted with Zeke's case and always happy to discuss him with prospective adopters.
