My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Wyatt! Wyatt is a purebred 4 year old Weimaraner. Wyatt is a wonderful dog!!! He's just great with everyone. He is very sweet, and very, very well behaved. He's not destructive in the house or the car, doesn't take food off the counter, and doesn't compete with the other dogs for food or attention. He loves being cared for. He's a real gentleman. Here is a lnk to lots more photos:

He has completed at least one 6 week obedience class. He is very sweet, great with everyone, and has shown absolutely no signs of aggression towards anyone, human or dog. He wags his tail happily when meeting strangers. He lets everyone pet him, including kids at a pet store and the dog park.

He gets along with all of the other dogs in his foster home. He went with his foster dad to a dog club event and he ran with many dogs in the field. He has been to the dog park and he loved it. Wyatt is very playful and has shown no signs of dominance. He would probably do best with another dog in the home as he seems to enjoy the company of other dogs.

When being fed with the other dogs, Wyatt does not try to push in. He has not tried to take anyone's food, and instead patiently waits for his bowl. His foster dad can put his hand in his food bowl while he is eating and stir it around. No problems there. He is not a counter surfer. He hasn't even sniffed/searched for anything on the counters. When food at his level (e.g. a coffee table) and if he gets interested, he will turn away with a simple "no" correction. He's a really good dog.

Wyatt travels well. He's a perfect gentleman in the vehicle. He primarily lays down and takes a nap, and sometimes will sit up to look around. There's no pacing or climbing around. He's also crate trained and willingly goes inside on his own. He seems to only whine for you to get out of the crate if he has to go to the bathroom. But he will stop whining if you tell him "no".

As typical with Weimaraners, Wyatt as much energy and needs time to run and play. He seems to walk around when it's past time for him to go on a walk, but then settles down quite well after his exercise needs are met.

Wyatt will chase a kitty so needs to be placed in a home without a cat, but other than that, he will do well in a home where the family can give him the time, love and attention that he so deserves. Like any Weimaraner, he will do best in a home where he is not left at home alone all day where both adults work outside of the home, we would prefer to place him in a home where one adult either stays home or works out of the home or works only part time. Wyatt is healthy and all of his shots are up to date, he is neutered and microchipped. If you want to meet Wyatt to see if he is the dog for you, please send an email to WeimLuvvr@aol.com and ask for an application to adopt.
