Meet Beau!
Beau is just a year old and he is an American English Coonhound. Beau is neutered, fully vaccinated (distemper, Kennel Cough, and Rabies), he is on Heartworm preventative and has been since 6 months of age, he is micro chipped, dewormed and treated for fleas.
Beau came to us from a man who had him tied to a tree in his backyard. We do not believe Beau ever was inside a home prior to us taking him and if he was it was not for any length of time. Beau needed to learn everything from stairs to it is OK to actually come in from the outside. When we brought Beau in he was a shy and very cautious pup, today he is eager to meet new people and allow them trust.
Beau currently is in a foster home that does have other dogs and he loves them, we do believe he would do best either in a home with another dog or in a home that has a lot of time to give to him. Beau does love to run and play so either must have a fenced yard or be out walking/hiking a lot or even better would be both.
Beau does currently live with cats and small children and he does great with both. He is kinda scared of the kitties which in our eyes could be a really good thing.
Beau does need some basic training (leash, sit, stay, come, down). He is almost completely housebroke and will do all he can to not go inside but he can have an accident if not paid attention to. Beau will also chew up his toys and if given the chance we might chew a shoe or something he is not suppose to have, for this reason he is crated when his foster family is not at home and he does great in a crate.
Beau is an amazing dog and he is going to be a wonderful addition to the right family who will work with him and understand he is a hound dog and does have all those great hound dog traits. Please note that we do not do out of state adoptions or adoptions further then we can preform a home visit. There will be an adoption contract and an adoption fee of $350.00 for Beau.
