What is involved with fostering?
We cover any veterinary care that may be needed, and you provide lots of love and attention.
Each day so many cats and kittens are euthanized or left to fend for themselves outside. We get dozens of calls each week asking if we can help with stray cats and kittens so there are many more out there that need to be saved. We would like to help more of these poor kitties out there but need your help.
How do our cats get adopted?
Many cats are adopted through the postings on our website. We have our adoption center at the PetSmart in Whitehall which houses anywhere from 4- 9 cats at a time and another adoption center at Dogtown in New Britain. Foster homes can bring the cats or kittens to adoption days or other special events to promote adoptions.
If you want to foster a specific cat or kitten or if you have a preference as to what you'd like to foster, we can help you find the right foster kitty. Without your help, we won't be able to help the many kitties out there that need our help!
If you are interested in fostering, please fill out an online application to adopt or call us at 610-967-9097, option 3. When filling out the application, list the cat name if there is a specific cat you would like to foster.
We do screen our adopters and do a home visit to make sure our cats and kittens are getting the very best home they deserve. So you have peace of mind knowing they will be going to a great home!
There is nothing more rewarding then seeing your foster cat or kitten get adopted!
The Cat Shack rescue is all volunteer and the adopted cats are delivered to your home. Because we deliver the cats to you, we must restrict the adoptions of our highly adoptable cats to a 1 hour drive from the Allentown PA area. In certain situations, 'special-needs' cats, ferals and older cats will be adopted to homes at a greater distance then a 1 hour drive from Allentown PA.
The first step in adoption is to...

Young KITTENS are always adopted in Pairs or to homes with other felines already in the home. Click here to read why kittens are happier with a buddy!
All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, tested and altered as part of the adoption contract. This basic care (and other vet work required to make our rescues healthy) is included in the $85 adoption donation!
