My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Norma Jean is a lovely 6 yr. old female Pekingese. As you can see from the photos, she has only the use of her left eye since puppyhood, which she is very well adjusted to. She is fully housetrained, walks well on a leash, and has good indoor manners. Although she is generally wary of strangers, she is friendly once she has greeted house guests. Like many small dogs, she appears to naturally dislike young children. Norma is interested in other dogs, but doesn’t have experience socializing with them. She does well most of the time with very calm, submissive dogs both large and small. She enjoys walking with other dogs, and it may be possible that she could develop “play” skills with more exposure to familiar dogs.

Norma very much enjoys playing with her many stuffed toys. She likes to be talked to and sit close to people. Interestingly enough, she loves to eat vegetables and will happily finish my broccoli! Norma is quite a showoff and will do tricks for a cookie (or green bean). She delights in sprinting the hallways and twirling in circles when we come inside from our walks.


She turns a lot of heads with her bouncy gait and creamy coat, and she’s a fiercely protective home security system. I look forward to uniting Norma Jean with her forever and ever family.

Normal Jean is being fostered in Philadelphia, PA and her asking adoption fee is $225.
