Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Name: Didi
Location: Western North Carolina
Fee: $100.00
Didi was rescued from animal control just in the nick of time. No rescue would
take her because she is a dachshund mix and not purebred. That is a shame
because they missed out on a sweetheart.
Didi is a red smooth dachshund mix. She looks like a dachshund but is not as
long and has longer legs. Didi likes her things and does not want to share them
with another dog. She plays well with her foster brothers and sisters, but will
not share her food or toys with them. Her foster mom has taken toys and food
away from Didi with no problems. Didi is housetrained, but will need time in
her new home to acclimate to the new schedule and routine. Fosters need extra
time in their new homes to get acquainted with their new family and the new
home. Didi is also crate trained and leash trained. She is a very sweet girl
and will make a wonderful companion. She is not a barker, so if you live in an
apartment or condo, she will not disturb your neighbors when you are gone to
work. Didi might do better as an only dog since she does not want to share her
things, it depends on the personality of the other dogs in the home if a multi
dog home. She is full of spirit and joy. Didi is estimated to be around 2 years old.
Didi is spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm negative on prevention, has been
dewormed and is microchipped. She has no known health issues.
Didi needs a home that is experienced with dachshunds or other breeds that like to take over the household with growling, showing teeth and snapping. It is obvious she did this in her previous home with no discipline or training. Her foster mom has no problems at all with Didi, she has only been a sweet, loving dog with her. But other homes that are not experienced with this trait of the dachshund breed may have problems with her. She only needs a home that will love her and understands this trait. She is by no means a mean dog, only a diva that will try to get her way with any means that works. If stopped immediately, she is well behaved and does not try it again. She is really a great dog with lots of personality and love to give. Didi wants a best human friend that will lead her so that she can relax and be a dog.
