Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Scootie and Dixie came into rescue because their family could no longer care for
them. Their Dad died a couple of months ago and family members lost their
house. Little Scootie and Dixie would be homeless without rescue stepping in.
Scootie is the male. He is a 7-lb wonder. Such a lovebug, Scootie is always
willing to give hugs. Dixie is the female and weighs 5-lbs. She is a little
shy, taking time to warm up. Dixie is always looking to make sure Scootie is
near, so this bonded pair can not be broken up for any reason. Both are smooth
black and tan micro-mini dachshunds. Micro-mini dachshunds are those dachshunds
too small to make the mini dachshund standards.
Both Scootie and Dixie are housetrained, crate trained and leash trained. Dixie
will whine when she wants to go outside to potty along with little Scootie
following her. They like to wander around the yard and smell for critters.
These two dachshunds are the cutest little dogs. They are looking for a loving
forever home that will help them adjust with love to a new life. Both are
between 4-5 years of age. We are not yet sure how they do with small children
and cats. Alot will be learned from these two babies in the next couple of
weeks at their foster home.
Both Scootie and Dixie are neutered/spayed, current on vaccines, heartworm
negative on prevention and have been dewormed. They have no known health
issues at this time.
If you are interested in giving Scootie and Dixie a loving forever home, please
contact their foster mom at Bunnydog@bellsouth.net and fill out an online
adoption application from our website. If you have never adopted thru a rescue
organization before, please read 'Adopting thru AHDRS' before applying. Scootie
and Dixie are located in western N.C., please consider transportation issues
before applying. Please do not ask for this bonded pair to be separated. Dixie
is very bonded to Scootie and these two are a package deal if you are looking to
adopt a pair.
