My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I’m Rocky! I am a 1-year-old Dachshund mix, neutered male puppy and have all my shots. I currently weigh about 20 pounds. I am looking for a forever family. Are you my family?

My foster mom says I’m learning my manners well. I rarely have accidents in the house anymore. I come when called most of the time. I love to practice “sit” & “down” with mom, my foster siblings and the treats. I love rawhides, chew toys and playing fetch. I’m still trying to convince mom that if I go get the ball, she needs to come to me to get it back. She’s learning.

Mom says to let anyone that’s interested in being my family know that I need lots of exercise, a job to do around the house,someone that will teach me the rules and make me follow them.She says I’m smart, inquisitive and have a strong hunting drive. I play well with other dogs, big & small. I’ve played with Chihuahuas, a Jack Russell, Great Danes and a Pit Bull. I do sometimes get a little rough with smaller dogs because I forget I’m so much bigger & heavier. I still play like a puppy – mouthing, pawing & play growling; and need a family that knows this is normal & will teach me other ways to play. At night, I love to curl up in mom’s lap with my foster siblings and watch mom read until I fall asleep.
