UPDATED BIO 08/21/2013: Mister is 9 years old and weighs about 9 lbs; he is a Silky Terrier. Mister & Missus have always been together in their former home and must be adopted together. They are being fostered in The Villages, FL, north of Orlando.
Mister has the eyes of a very wise soul and initially, was very cautious before allowing any kind of relationship to develop between his Foster Parents and himself. Both he and Missus appeared to depressed. It took a while, but he has come a long, long way. Mister had never slept in a human's bed before he came to our home. Now, he curls up in "his" spot on our bed without any urging. We have been taking him for walks and to a local dog park where, at first, he tried to dominate the other dogs, especially those who looked at his Missus. With a little patience and lots of understanding on the part of dog owners at the park, Mister has mellowed when around other dogs and has joined in the fun.
He now plays with Missus, which he didn’t do in the first few months, and interacts with Bogie, the resident African Grey Parrot. It's like he and Bogie communicate back and forth (perhaps they do have their own language). When Foster Mom is at her desk on the computer, Mister curls up on the blanket next to her chair. When the nine-year-old granddaughter was with the foster parents for a month, Mister took it upon himself to be poolside whenever the granddaughter was in the water - letting her know if he didn't approve of some antics - and he was always at the foot of her bed whenever she was reading or sleeping. He became her protector. Mister is now a very loving and well-behaved little guy and he acts more care-free in his foster home environment.

Mister wanted to update everyone on how he & Missus are doing:
Mister here! My Foster Mom & Foster Dad have been bringing us to the dog park where there are all different kinds of dogs. Being the handsome boy, I am very protective of my Missus and I let the other dogs know it. After I show them who's who, I back down and I'm okay. FM & FD are trying to break me of that habit ~ they said that Missus can take care of herself and I don’t need to guard her and they are right. I'm working on that……….
Now, they've added a yorkie boy to my Foster Family ~ his name is Charlie. Having Charlie living with us is kinda helping me to control my protective and possessive instincts. But I always thought the boy was supposed to be the protector? Geesh, life is so confusing sometimes. Like the bird Bogie that lives here. What is wrong with me barking my head off at him? We were having a conversation, I thought, since he was squawking, too. Well, FM said that wasn’t a good thing, so if you have an annoying bird like Bogie, you may want to give him away before I come and live with you. Hmph!!
Foster Mom and Dad tell me all the time how handsome I am and how good I am and I love hearing it. Missus and I have lots of fun here and we love our walks since we always meet new people and see new exciting things. We would be good in your home, too, if you adopted us!
FM said that we live in The Villages where there are a lot of senior people and that one of them would be really really lucky if they adopted us cause we are such good dogs and good companions, too. We love lying in laps or beside you and are very interested in what you are doing during the day. Please give me and my Missus a furever home – we will love you a lot!
