BIOGRAPHY: Tuffy is a loveable, 10 lb, male, 5 year old Chigi (Chihuahua/Corgi hybrid.) He was rescued by Homeward Bound Canine Rescue and Rehabilitation from a horrific hording situation where he and dozens of other animals lived in deplorable conditions. A strong-minded little guy, Tuffy wasn’t happy in a kennel and was sent to the World Animal Foundation Animal Orphanage & Retirement Center for rehabilitation. He was frightened of his new surroundings at first and hid under furniture. After a little time to adjust, Tuffy learned to trust his caregivers and quickly became a devoted lap dog. He is exceptionally intelligent, incredibly devoted and will follow you everywhere. Tuffy is happiest cuddling on your lap or being carried in your arms. In fact, he insists on it. He does well with other animals, but can be jealous, so he’d also be happy as an only dog. He’s not happy being left alone, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be ideal.He would love a home where he can snuggle with someone all day and night. He should not be let outside unintended as he has been known to climb chain link fences and outsmart gates. He’s such a bright little guy he has also found his way out of dog crates. He is now leash trained and 95% housebroken. Tuffy is wearing a belly band (reusable doggie diaper) while he finishes housebreaking. He has not soiled his belly band.
