Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Coco! Coco is a very sweet, loving, and truly beautiful purebred female Weimaraner. She is 1 ½ - 2 yrs. old and is the sweetest, gentlest, most loving girl you will ever meet. And not only is she a beauty, she is just 65 lbs so a petite perfect size!
Coco came to us when a good Samaritan found her living with a homeless man at a homeless shelter. The kind man was so worried about her and wanted a better life for her, so he made the very difficult decision to relinquish her to our rescue so that we could have her spayed and vaccinated and find her a good home. We promised him that we would find her the very best forever home, and we are committed to doing just that. It is going to be a very special family that is chosen to adopt Coco because we only want the very very best for her.
When we picked Coco up, she sweetly and submissively hopped in the car with her rescuer’s other dog and proceeded to fall asleep on her boyfriend’s lap! She cuddled right in as if she had been part of the family all along. What a doll this girl is!
Coco is the most loving girl. She is great with people, dogs, and even with cats so she is a great choice for a family with kitties! She may chase a kitty who runs, just for the fun of it, but will be fine with a kitty who is dog savvy.
Like all Weims, Coco will do best with a family who can spend a lot of time with her. She loves other dogs and would do well in a home with another canine companion to play with. She is such a people dog, though, that she would also do fine as your one and only dog, as long as you have lots of time and love to give her. She will not do well left alone for super long work days without a friend to keep company. After all, she is a Weimaraner and a true companion pup.
She has perfect doggie manners and the other dogs really like her company. She has a perfect mix of playful nature and calmness when it's time to relax. She likes her walks and she likes playing, then it's time to settle down and watch some TV or just hang out with the family. She is still very young and may steal a shoe or nibble on furniture, so be prepared for some puppy behavior if you apply to adopt her. A basic obedience class will be required so that Coco can become the best that she can be.
Coco is very smart and is already housebroken. She learned the doggy door at her foster home very quickly. Although she doesn't seem to have any formal training, she really wants to please her people and has already learned to "sit" for a treat. Whoever adopts her will enjoy working with her on learning more commands, Weims are brilliant and easy to train, and Coco is no exception.
Coco still pulls on a leash so for now would do better on a harness or gentle leader until she gets better. She would love a family who can take her for regular walks and trips to the dog park and the dog beach so she can get to know lots of other dogs. She is a social family dog who is a pleasure to take anywhere. Even in the car, she is a perfect lady.
Coco is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all of her vaccines. If you think you have enough love to share with Coco, send an email to Weimluvvr@aol.com so that we can get you an application.
