My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Matilda's story is all too familiar. She joined our rescue after being surrendered by an abusive owner. We don't have first hand knowledge of the abuse but she is timid around men and shys away from loud voices. Those that met her owner at the ER found him to be intimidating and scary.

She came to us when her owner asked that she be euthenized after being hit by a car. No exam, no x-rays - just euthenize her. Well the ER called us, performed the necessary exams and we discovered that her injuries were limited to bruising. After a couple of weeks she was walking with ease, playing and letting us pet her. It's been a few months now and she has learned to trust us. Matilda plays with our other fosters and uses the dog door. She is healthy, adorable and very smart.

Matilda is going to need a patient home. She adores her humans but it does take time for her to trust and not be afraid. She won't immediately warm up but the wait is more than worth it. Matilda is full of love - there isn't a mean bone in her body and for the right family she will be a great pet.

Matilda is a year old, healthy, UTD on her vaccinations and heartworm negative. Matilda is being fostered in the DFW, TX area; if you would like to meet her please contact us. Her adoption fee is $200.00; this amount will go towards the expenses for her ER visit, vaccinations and spay.
