My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

They call me Cool Hand Luke for a reason, y’know. It’s cuz I like my freedom, I’m always lookin’ for a way to git what I want, and I’m smooooothe as a gravy sandwich with the ladies. And just like Paul Newman, I’m always ready to bust out and have myself a little romp before the authorities catch up with me. Heck, my nose is so good, I can usually find my way back to the yard, given enough time. But once I’m in the yard, that nose of mine is what keeps callin’ me back out to the wide open spaces where the squirrels and rabbits and woodchucks are waitin.’ That bein’ said, I sure do appreciate a comfortable bunk where the food’s tasty and the TV plays Westerns. So if you know how to keep a Beagle, then I might just choose to bunk down with you.

Like a lot of cons, I come from a broken home. My owners had good intentions, but when they split, I ended up staying with the person who could least afford me. And then when she got hurt, I went into what seemed like perpetual foster care, waiting for her to get better and take me back. But chances of that happenin’ are slim to none now; and odds like that tell me it’s time to find a new place to hang my leash. So here I am, advertisin’.

I’m a neutered male purebred Beagle, tricolor, like my Pappy. I’m microchipped (good thang), vaccinated and housebroken real nice. I aint got a mean bone in my body. I get along just fine with the lady dogs, but other male dogs don’t seem to appreciate my style. So that’s why folks are always tryin’ to keep me from gettin’ out…..I mind my own business, but sometimes I mind it in some big guy dawg’s turf. And then ya wanna see the fur fly!

I’m pretty good on a leash, so I think a home where the people like to take daily walks and hikes will be pretty good for me. And if they have a Beagle-proof fence, then heck, that’s what I’d call a real Ace of a Place. And by the way, I sit and stay like a pro, I’m an easy-keeper that don’t mind groomin,’and I love rasslin’ with kids. so heck, I’m quite an adoptable package, don’t ya think?
