My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Gracie

Sex: Female
Age: 2 years
Breed: Terrier mix
March 25,2013 - Gracie's first picture is her after the groomer doesn't she look great!
Gracie came to us from a rural town where without rescue Gracie's days were numbered, Gracie came into rescue with her sister who is now with Hull's Haven. Gracie has not had the most positive experience with human and she will work on that in her foster home, where she is already blooming. Gracie is living with other dogs and will need someone who will continue to work with her and encourage her so please email us today if you would like to meet Gracie.

FOSTER UPDATE: Imagine, for a second, what it would be like to have someone in your home that warms your heart and makes you smile EVERY time you look at them. That is the gift that Gracie brings. When I brought her to my home, she had completely given up on life and hid, cowering, in the back of her crate.... covered in filth and terrified of everything.
After a month and a half of love and caring she has blossomed! She doesn't walk around the house, she dances! Everywhere she goes is with a spring in her step and a contagious goofy little smile.
All she needs now, is someone who is willing to show her that loving family-life is forever. She is house-trained (even asks to go out), sheds very little ... and is learning the 'basics' like sit, down etc...
She's not good with cats, 50/50 with dogs When Gracie came into my home, she was extremely reactive to my German Shepherd, Kharma. And I guess Kharma took it personally...she now keeps trying to be all alpha with her. The best way I can describe it is they've entered into an uneasy cohabitation. They're both sitting with me now, but they don't play together (just beside each other with me), and I have to be very vigilant in watching their body language to divert impending scraps. That being said, I think with a lot of time and patience they would get along eventually. I don't think it's impossible for her to live with another dog. It would depend on an initial meeting and how much effort one wanted to put in. Same with cats really; she isn't cruel with mine, but I don't trust the amount of interest/focus she shows.

She is EXTREMELY bonded to me. I think the best case scenario is her with one person or a calmer family, other animals aren't out of the question but would require lots of work and some dog-training skills/experience.

Gracie is still scared of strangers so she will need continued socialization with people and other dogs.
Do yourself a favor and let this sweet and loving ball of fluff into your heart. You won't stop smiling
