Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello,
I'm in dire need of a home for a pit mix I took in for a friend who is away to texas on military training. I move in 4 days. I have exhausted my options by asking friends, family, and some local shelters.I have been working with the original owner also and he has tried to find him a home as well but the two few possible adopters we came up with have fallen through. The Humane Society of Greater Dayton will not take him in because they are already 20% their bully limit. To make matters worse, he is heart worm positive. He is 6 months into treatment with heart guard, doxycycline, and predisone. I just took him in for his 6 month follow up on January 30th and he's still positive. Physically he is doing well, has a good weight, and is active with no coughing. The doctor said this method could take up to 2 years before he is heart worm negative. He also agreed to talk to anyone in depth about his medical history dating back from when I adopted him (before that his history is unknown). I've only had him for about 6-7 months now. He is good with cats and both male and female dogs. With males he's somewhat submissive. He's playful to both genders. Please, if there is anything you can do please help. If there is a direction you can point me in, please do the same. Any help is greatly appreciated. He is a good dog and knows sit, lay, shake, go potty, and the previous owner said he's bell trained. He's very loyal to his owner and will follow you around. He's crate and house trained. He stays in the crate during the work day, roams around the house during the evening, and sleeps in my room on the floor at night. He walks good, doesn't mind car rides (he likes passenger seat) and when i let him out back in my fenced yard he goes potty right away and just want to come back inside. He's current on all shots and has a dog tag. My contract is up on my current job with rebid and renewals and government sequestration I decided to take the new job which required extensive travel and training for a year. Please contact me if you think you are able to help this handsome guy at all.
Sincerely,
Mark
