Betsy is a delightful 2-year-old Miniature Pinscher/Italian Greyhound mix, who is tall and has long legs so she can walk, run, play, and even hike. She is a fantastic little 10-pounder, happy to be alive and to show you her happy dance when she occasionally stands on her hind legs, dancing and prancing, and looking up at you in adoration. She is a great all-around versatile dog, who can be a lap dog, but can also wrestle and play with the other dogs. She walks well on the leash, rides fantastic in the car, and is extremely well-behaved in public. She is loving and sweet and will give you little kisses. I do not think that I have ever heard her bark. Betsy is potty-trained (however, potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment) and knows to go out the doggie door when she needs to do her business. She is crate-trained, and used to sleep quietly in her crate at night, enjoying a raw-hide chip before bed-time, however, she is now so trustworthy she sleeps loose on a pet bed or on a human bed. Betsy gets along with all dogs, big and small, male and female. She is a cute little dog with warm eyes, a happy smile, and an A ++ personality. She has gorgeous tri-colored markings, a rich and soft healthy coat, and an adorable little under-bite that is “to die for” cute! A plus is that she is low shedding (I have not yet seen her shed – her coat is very healthy). Betsy is so special to me that I would love for her to go to a home with a canine friend. She is such a good-natured, and easy dog and such a joy to have around.
The mission of rescue is to give chance to a dog that might need some additional love and understanding. As a rescuer, I still see that it is rare when someone in the public really embraces the true essence of rescue. Folks are typically looking for the cutest dog, and hope that he/she has the perfect personality to boot. When I met Betsy in the shelter, she was very sick with kennel cough and they were going to euthanize her. I saw that the top of her nose was pink (it looked sunburned), which is an imperfection in the eyes of many, but something told me to save her that day, and now, she is my little “special needs” dog, looking for that special person who will not mind putting a tad of topical ointment on her nose once a day to keep her nose black (and prevent it from going back to pink) and also applying sun screen on her nose if she is going on an outdoor outing (Betsy would need to be primarily a house dog). I will be happy to discuss Betsy’s “Collie Nose” with anyone. If you will just give Betsy a chance, she will be one of the best dogs that you have ever had.
Betsy is spayed, fully vaccinated, including rabies, de-wormed, and micro-chipped. She has had extensive medical testing to ensure that her “condition” is exclusive to the nose and is otherwise a healthy (and happy) dog. If you are interested in Betsy, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com or call: 626-340-9316. Please ensure that you have read the dog’s bio and have visited my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and gone to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process; thank you!
