What would you do if you found 6 week old puppies? Little ones--just weaned--but still weak and wobbley and only interested in food and sleep and playing with their litter mates? And what if you found those puppies alone, outside, in the winter? What would you do? What could you do?
We know what evil people can do with puppies in the city. So we took them in. No questions asked. Nothing is going to happen to this bunch. We scooped them up and took them to a safe place, where they could be warm and fed. And here they are--all 4 of them, 2 girls and 2 boys--growing, playing and living in a house with other dogs and people who care about them.
At their age it is hard to determine what their breed is. The vet’s best guess is Shepherd and Akita with a whole lot of cute mixed in. They are furry like Akita puppies with curly tails and coloring and markings of a Shepherd. They are growing fast! Once it didn't look like they had a future--now there's no limit!
Gabe and his litter mates Gabby, Lea and Leam were born on November 9, 2012. Gabe is the largest of his litter mates. Gabe is very mellow and laid back. He loves to be picked up and snuggled. He will tuck his head under your chin and snuggle in for a long winters nap. Gabe has this funny little ritual of nudging your feet or running around your feet to tell you when he wants to come in from outside. They are all very smart and picking up on potty training quickly. He is learning to communicate by crying to express when he needs to go outside.
To help Gabe get acclimated to his new home, the adoption fee includes 1 complimentary training session with the rescue’s trainer.
