Here's what the humans have to say about me:
All HSWA dogs are in foster homes and need an appointment to be seen. Please call 205-554-0011 or email humaneswa@yahoo.com to request an appointment to see the dog/puppy and to check availability. Before choosing a pet, we recommend meeting the pet or asking questions first.
Look at this handsome little sweetie pie! Bama is a one-year-old male Schnauzer mix. He has a scruffy black, gray and tan coat and weighs about 15 pounds. Poor Bama was turned into our local animal shelter by his owner for destructive inside behavior. We were scared that was turning folks off, since he had been down there a month! Well, a young, energetic Terrier that is left unattended instead of crated or confined is going to do this!!
Bama is a very sweet, fun loving dog with lots of energy. He will need another playmate to help run off that energy or get lots of exercise. This is not a coach potato pup! Bama will require a fenced-in yard so he can run around and chase squirrels, etc. that this breed likes to do. But this could mean he might be an escape artist, so he'll need the added security and supervision. He should be fine with other dogs and with older children. He might be too energetic for an apartment. Bama is very friendly and social. He is up to date on his vet care, neutered and is heartworm-negative. He is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention, and we have started on his crate training. Bama is a fun, tenacious little dog that will bring lots of joy to your home!!!
February 2013 Update: Bama has a new shorter haircut!! What a handsome pup hiding under all that fur!! He definitely has Schnauzer in there!
