My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

INITIAL BIO 1/10/13: Meet Rango! He is a 9 pound Yorkie boy being fostered in Clearwater, FL. Rango was rescued at a very skinny 7 pounds. After getting a warm place to sleep and regular meals for a week he is now a whopping 9 pounds and looking much healthier. Rango has found his love for squeaker toys and tennis balls. He will make sure his foster brother sees his prize then run all around the house playing keep away. Foster mom really thinks potty training will be easy once he gets neutered, because as it is now Rango wants to mark ALL territory every chance he gets. Rango is still a little too nervous to give kisses but wags his tail constantly and jumps right into any lap that wants to pet him. He can act a little possessive over his person's lap when his foster brother tries to join but at the first sign of growling or tension, foster mom calmly lifts him off her lap and onto the floor and when he is ready he will join the family on the couch again. So far, this has been working very well and he is learning that if he wants to be part of the family cuddle time, he has to share and be polite. Rango is too nervous to be adopted into a family with children. He has had one biting incident prior to coming into UYR (a new person put their face right in his face and likely startled him) but has shown no signs of aggression since coming to his current foster home. Rango needs a calm and patient home to help him learn how to play and love and be comfortable knowing he will live there forever.
