Hailey is a sweet, 7-8 week old puppy who was rescued from a house where there were too many dogs and whereby she had been separated from her mom too soon, so she is still looking for a mother substitute in her human. We (including the vet) tend to believe that she is Aussie Shepherd mix, or Sheltie mix, possibly with some Collie. She weighs a bit over 4 lbs. at present. We believe that she will grow up to be about 30-35 lbs. but prediction of exact weight (and exact breed) is somewhat difficult at this time. Hailey will whine when separated from you, so patience will be needed, but she brings her foster mom lots of joy and laughter.
Hailey needs active work with potty training, but she is smart and catching on. She sleeps quietly throughout the night in her crate, but only if next to her foster mom's bed where Hailey can see her. Hailey prefers to be snuggled warm, so she likes the cat bed placed inside her crate. She likes toys, and loves to run after and even returns a small ball. She loves other dogs and tries to play with the other dogs but at this point it is mainly just jumping in their face over and over, therefore any other dogs in the home would have to be tolerant of this. Hailey will sit still for hours if being held without squirming, and at this point, still sleeps a lot.
The home that we are seeking for Hailey is one where her people can spend time with her throughout the day, as opposed to keeping her locked up all day and then all night. Kids are fine, as long as they are gentle and understanding of a puppy. The main consideration for her placement is someone who has the time and patience; if you like your environment to be peaceful and quiet at all times, then Hailey is not a good match. If there are other dogs in the home, they would need to be extra tolerant, as Hailey does not yet understand respecting others’ space, and we would not wish for Hailey to get hurt since she is still so small.
Hailey is de-wormed, de-flea'ed, and has had her first round of puppy shots. She will need two more rounds of shots, one at 12 weeks, and another at 16 weeks. She is not micro-chipped. If you are interested in Hailey, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. Her adoption fee is $250.00 plus a $50.00 spay/neuter deposit. There will be a spay/neuter contract to sign in addition to the standard adoption contract. Please visit my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and go to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process; thank you!
