Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi Everybully! My name is Maggie Moo, As you can see I’m a small bully girl (my foster mom says I’m gorgeous, she makes me blush when she says that) and I’m about 2 years old. I had a rough start in life…when I was a puppy and left my mom and siblings I went to a home that had a couple other bullies like me. Shortly after arriving there I was diagnosed as having Parvo, that was a rough few weeks for me as the vet helped me fight against it. I’m a fighter and came through all the treatments and isolation period like a champion. A few weeks later I went in for my spay surgery, and during surgery my NEW vet (yes…my first family gave me to another family after the Parvo fight) noticed that my kidneys and bladder were not formed correctly or functioning properly, he performed the spay but did not do anything to help my kidneys or bladder. He sent his notes and observations to the fine folks at the Vet College at Kansas State who diagnosed me as having ectopic ureters. They told my new family that my condition was surgically correctable, but that it would be a costly surgery. They were heartbroken to hear my diagnosis, and knew that the cost of my surgery would be more than they could handle. Fortunately for all of us, they contacted my foster mom about getting me in to the care of IEBR.
So, about a week after they called my foster mom I was in her home hanging out and pestering my foster brother at every chance I could get. Foster mom took me in to see our bulldog specialist who confirmed the diagnosis of ectopic ureters and realized that due to the lack of action by the vet who performed my spay surgery I had developed a severe infection in my lady parts. Based on my progressed condition they decided to schedule me for surgery ASAP. Our bulldog vet was able to confirm that only one kidney was ectopic and he removed it successfully. He also fixed my cherry eyes while I was asleep. I spent a few days at his office recovering before I went home to recover some more at home.
I did have to go back to Super Special Bully Vet for more tests and it was concluded that indeed, even though I am non stop puppy my life will be cut short due to internal issues, with love and care I will be able to live with little to no discomfort, but hey, life is for living, and I expect to live it to the full. I am both a Love & a Fighter xxx
I LOVE to snuggle with my Foster fur sister and play with the cats and the skin kids in this house are a blast. Daddy loves to play with me and I am quite amusing when I play apparently as I do a silly growl and my tongue will hang out. I LOVE playing fetch and tug of war. My favorite toy is the pickle.
I should tell you, I’m a bit unusual for bulldogs…I LOVE getting baths. I love them so much that I try to hop in the shower in the morning when mom is in there. She laughs and tells me I’m silly. Mom says I have the sweetest personality, I love to snuggle and give kisses (LOTS of kisses) and that I have one the best bulldog hugs she’s ever been given (what a compliment!!).
I think I will do really well in a home with another dog to keep me company during the day (especially if everyone has to go to work and school during the day). I’m great with little kids…I just love to give them kisses. Mom does want me to tell you that I do get a bit protective of my food and bones. I am completely crate trained and house broken.
So that’s me…if you think you’ll be the right match for me (and give me lots of squeaky tennis balls and kisses) fill out one of the IEBR applications. Love Maggie Moo xxx
