My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We don't have much information on Ebony. She is 3 years old as per her caretakers and has had several litters, though they told us "her pups never live". She looked to be pregnant again. She was reserved and cautious with us, looked a bit depressed, allowed herself to be touched and handled. She took tinned food from us very gently. Her demeanour is quiet and low key. I am optimistic about her with other animals and kids, but she hasn't been assessed. She's been well socialized with other dogs but was another of the more independent ones there so she is a likely candidate to fit into a multi-pet household or to be a single pet. She's spent her entire life in a cage in a garage on a property with 150-200 dogs.

We are trying to help these dogs but there are a large number and we're way over capacity. We aren't able to take any more in without more foster homes. Ebony is in danger of being given away to whoever wants her from a "free dogs" ad or of going to a high volume shelter that doesn't have resources to keep dogs for long as authorities have ordered the dogs removed by March. Ebony is old enough to be settled and low key, but she's still bright and healthy and has the capacity to offer several years of companionship.
