My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a happy, well-adjusted Border Collie overflowing with those traits we love about the breed? Meet Lucky! This fantastically freckled young lad is just a gem – loving, willing, bright, attentive, athletic and full of life. Found as a stray and never claimed, Lucky is sure to make some Border Collie lover a perfect companion.

This friendly fellow is quite the social butterfly! He loves people and the more attention they will give him, the better. He just wants to be with his human friends and be a part of whatever they are doing. Hustle and bustle do not seem to upset him, and given his sweetfriendly nature, we think he could be a candidate for families with kids. Lucky is equally outgoing when it comes to other canines, does
well with other dogs, and would probably love to play with those that are willing! Cats are an unknown. He is not showing much interest in toys just yet – he will pick one up occasionally, but nothing more than that. Luck does show some herding instinct and he is drawn to the horses in his foster home…he will nip at their heels, so will definitely need a home where he can be either trained to work properly or kept away from stock altogether. Luck loves more than anything joining his people on outdoor adventures – hiking, running, walks, you name it, he is always up for an outing! He’s a pretty high energy fellow and will need a good chunk of exercise daily to be happiest and at his best.

Like most BCs, Lucky is bright and eager to learn, and is sure to be a top notch student! He seems to be housetrained, but is not cratetrained yet. He can sit and comes when called. Lucky will need adopters who will continue his education with the basics and beyond to help him become the outstanding canine companion we know he can be!! Lucky will also require adopters willing to set clear and fair boundaries for him. He can be a lot of dog, but will thrive in a home that gives him ample direction and guidance. Lucky can also jump a fence, and any family interested in him will need to be able to manage and accommodate this tendency.

All in all, Lucky has all the innate makings of a wonderful canine friend, and whoever has the good fortune of taking him home will have found themselves a real prize. If you are looking for a young dog filled with potential, and have the time and energy to invest in helping him learn, Lucky may be the one for you!

Lucky is being fostered near Salt Lake City, UT.
