Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I have had Lexi for a few days now and her personality is beginning to emerge. The very first hour at my house she was extremely leary of coming out of her cage to play yet with in the next hour she'd come out to some kissy sounds to see what was going on get a little doggy treat and then head right back to her safety zone. After a little more time she would come out on her own and sit right beside me and lick my hand. She's been fine around my other dogs as well as good around my 3 kids- but any sudden movement towards her she hightails it back to her bed/crate. Not all that surprising knowing she was breeder dog. Which also brings me to referring any interested families to view the link on our front page about breeder dogs, if you are not already familiar with the typical characteristics. She is warming up to us and we are earning her trust, I just want to make sure that her new family understands what kind of environment she came from and will know they need to have lots and lots of patience and understanding with her during the transition period as well as her future years will need plenty of TLC too.
Lexi is not potty trained BUT has done fairly well with using the pee pads in the house.
Lexi will be going to the vet in the next week to be spayed and have a dental done. Her teeth are not in great shape at all, she is already missing a few and I'm sure with the dental she will need to have some more removed.
If you are interested in showing this poor little girl that life outside of the breeding kennel can be wonderful and your family has the patience to work with her, please fill out the online application to start the adoption process. She is a pure bred yorkie so she will be adopted very quickly once she has been vaccinated and fixed. Please email to sponsor, adopt or with questions!
If you have any further questions on Lexi feel free to email me for the quickest reply back at: lynnheller@sbcglobal.net
Adoption Fee is $150. All Adoption fees include spay/neuter, fecal/worming, bordetella and distemper. If dogs are old enough (over 6 months) includes heartworm test, rabies & are given their first heartworm pill.
All pets are eligible for one month Sheltercare Pet Insurance for a 1.00. We highly recommend you register for this, when you adopt we will give you brochure regarding it. It helps with any needed medical within 24 hours of registering. Many dogs we pull are from shelters & pounds with terrible conditions. Although we do have our vets vaccinate and do health check it does not guarantee that the dog is not quarenteening a virus which they can do up to 10 days so PLEASE take advantage of this offer!
