My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Lovable Millie!

Millie is a spayed female lab/shepherd mix (our best guess!) who is about 5 months old and 25 lbs. She will max out at about 50 lbs. Millie is a very sweet and gentle puppy. She LOVES to have her tummy rubbed! Millie is very happy to sit near you, chewing on a chew bone. She calms down pretty quickly. Although she likes to be near you, she isn't a needy type of dog, and not a lap dog. She is happy and silly when she greets you.

She already knows "sit" and "no" and she sleeps contentedly in her crate all night long. She has learned that the crate is a safe place and will even go in on her own. She's awesome when she meets people she doesn't know. When she meets dogs she is shy for about 1 minute then is ready to play with them! She loves to go for walks and hikes and is great on or off leash. She is a very very smart puppy! Her foster mom says she's the best puppy ever!

Millie is from Guatemala, a country that loves purebred dogs but treats mix breed pups like Millie with indifference---often abusing them. As a dog rescue organization we work hard to save a few puppies each year so they can come to America in the hopes of finding a better way of life. Millie was chosen to come to the US because we knew what an amazing puppy she is and so deserves a good home!

If you are interested in Millie you will need to fill out an application before meeting her to make sure it's a good match, and there is a fee for adoption as we are a we are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. Millie has been spayed and is up to date on all shots.
