Here's what the humans have to say about me:
UPDATED BIO 12/28/2012: Hi, Im Shayne. I am a two year old 3.8 pound yorkie boy. I am still underweight but I know I have gained at least 1/2 pound because I eat my kibble whenever I want to. Foster Mom keeps my bowl from being empty and I eat at least 1/2 to 3/4 cup a day for now.
I am still very frightened but Foster Mom says I am doing very well. I don't poop in my bed anymore and do most of my business outside. If I need to, I use the wee wee pad. FM thinks this is an incredible thing for me because I was covered in my own waste when I was surrendered. And now I like being clean all the time! FM had to use a glove for 3 days to pick me up but now I let her pick me up if I am going outside. I don't really like being picked up in the house. I ask for a treat and put my paws on FM's legs for attention but PLEASE DO NOT PICK ME UP.. We are working on that. So I have come a long way and will continue to go further.... or is that farther.? I am never aggressive and only try to bite if I am in a panic. FM keeps me very calm and now I let her pat my rump!!!! I like feeling safe and am happy UYR is helping me be a happier boy.
INITIAL BIO 11/24/2012: Shayne is a tiny little 2 year old 3.5 lb emaciated boy who was surrendered by his owners to a high kill shelter. Covered in feces, urine, and matted hair, he had to be sedated and shaved from his head to tail. He cowers at the touch of a human and doesn't like to be picked up. He's nipped at foster mom out of sheer fright. We don't understand how his owners let him, at only 2 years old, live a life where he knew no love.
Shayne will need a lot of TLC to get him to a place where he is considered adoptable. Our hope is we are not too late to show this baby what the world has to offer.
