My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shylo is a medium size female mix breed, aprox 3 yrs old, spayed, chipped and current on shots and heartworm/flea meds. She was surrendered to the shelter after being abandoned with her mom. She had only had contact with her male owner who we believe was abusive, so a home with a woman and no small children would probably be best. Should be placed with an experienced person who has patience to handle a shy dog. She has spent the last 2-1/2 months in foster care working on overcoming her fears and we have seen great progress. She is still fearful around new people and places but when in an environment that she feels secure she is sweet and playful. Currently living with two other dogs and enjoys playing with them altho not shy about letting them know if they play too rough, will give them a warning growl but then always apoligizes with kisses. Not aggressive at all with humans, can handle her, toys and her food without any issues (have only fed her in crate seperate from other dogs tho so not sure if she would have food aggression with dogs). She is used to eating and sleeping in a crate, knows sit and can "focus" for a treat. Learns fast, very smart.
