Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Yuuku, which means "trouble" in Japanese, is a 13 week old pure bred Red female Shiba Inu puppy. While she is absolutely adorable, she is a puppy, which means she will need a home that can work with her on potty training, nipping, biting, chewing, jumping, and everything that comes along with puppy raising. Her foster home is of course working on all of these things with her but the hard work must continue with her new family.
Yuuku loves to play with both people and other dogs. She would love another playful doggie in her forever home to play with. She is also being fostered with cats and does well with them but if she doesn't have another dog in her forever home, just a cat, she may be tempted to chase the kitty and try to get the cat to play with her.
Yuuku is working on socializing with people by taking treats from them as she alarm barked at new people when we first got her in but she is vastly improving. She is also working on sitting before she gets any attention so we never pet her when she jumps, only sitting or at least "four on the floor".
Yuuku is doing great in her crate and is quiet through the night. She also uses a doggie door in her foster home but that doesn't mean you can leave this puppy loose if no one is home, she is still crated when no one is present. She could digress in her potty training skills in a new place especially since she still needs to learn to ask to go outside, especially when there will be no more doggie door.
Yuuku's adoption fee is $525.00 as pure bred puppies are extremely rare in rescue and everyone is going to want her. A puppy from a reputable breeder that does genetic testing on the parents, offers a health guarantee, lets you visit the puppies/parents at the home, raises the dogs in the home/not in separated kennels, breeds the dogs at the proper age and intervals (after 2 years, resting females for a heat cycle in between breedings), etc., normally runs for around $850-1100.00. Yuuku's adoption fee includes her spay, which has already been completed, microchip, first distemper vaccination booster, deworming, and a 6 week long professional puppy training course.
