Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Born on April 16, 2012, Ginger was an owner surrender due to lack of time and baby on the way.
She is a little over eight months and still shows glimpses of puppy clumsiness. Adorable! Her mom was a Standard American Bulldog, and the father a German Shepherd. 48.5 lbs light and well-proportioned (show-quality over here!), Ginger is polite and respects boundaries but she is very agile and will need a fenced-in yard.
Very affectionate with those she trusts, she loves to give kisses and fancies herself to be a lap dog, will curl right in your arms if encouraged. She was raised around kids, but we suspect she did not see much of the world outside her immediate surroundings. Initially weary to strangers, men in particular, she is learning to relax and take treats from new people.
She is also learning to become comfortable around (and play with) other dogs. When properly introduced, she welcomes and reciprocates playful advances, especially with dogs her size or smaller.
Eager to please, she offers adorable "sits" and "downs" for treats. She has a good foundation in marker training (communication system similar to clicker training, but with verbal cues). She also knows "watch me," "place," "crate," "leave it," and has good off-leash recall in the large training yard, even with other dogs around. She is also learning to heel nicely on the leash in familiar surroundings.
She has made such impressive strides in a short period of time, we are confident she will continue to bloom with a little patience and ongoing socialization. With lots of play time and walks or runs, she will be a great companion for an active family.
Ginger is crate trained, house trained, will generally go outside "on cue," up to date with shots and recently altered.
Her adoption fee is $275 and all dogs adopted from Tracking Lucky Dogs Rescue come with a FREE training session with High Drive Pups (www.highdrivepups.com).
