Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Eddie is a stunning young male Golden Retriever cross. He was found hanging out at an orphanage in Guatemala, cleaning floors for little pay. Eddie is about a year and a half old. He has a beautiful, plush, blonde feathery coat, and is in fabulous shape. He weighs about 55 lbs. He is a great athlete, and loves to hike or run. He loves people of all shapes and sizes-loves men, women, kids. He not aggressive toward cats, but at this point, he likes to chase if they run, so we would not recommend a home with cats for him.
However, Eddie is terrific with other dogs, loves to fetch, play pull games, and generally have fun. He has basic obedience, and is clicker trained. He knows sit, down, "off' to stay off his food dish until released, and has a short stay. He has been trained to walk beside you on a loose leash, but if he thinks he can get away with it he will pull. Eddie also is used to a Gentle Leader training halter for times when he is walked by volunteers. He has a good off-leash recall, and checks in frequently when running free. He rides great in the car, happily jumping in and out, and is relaxed and well behaved in the passenger seat. Although Eddie would love to spend all day at the dog park, he is really good in the house. He settles and relaxes near you, and is very easy to have in the house.
Eddie currently lives in a kennel setup in our rescue. He shares his run with another dog, and they get along famously. He has not lieved in a house, although he does spend most of a day each Saturday in one. Because he hasn't actually lived in a home, Eddie needs to learn house manners (such as not counter surfing, not stealing the paper out of the bin, etc.) Also, we cannot guarantee that he is 100% house trained. He has not made errors during his Saturday visits, but he has not spent the night, and the dogs have access to the outside during their visit, as the door is always open. We recommend crating or putting Eddie in a puppy proof area when he is not supervised until he learns what to do and what not to do in the house.
Eddie does dig a bit and will chew, but we do not consider either behavior excessive or problematic. With gentle guidance he learns quickly.
Eddie is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heart worm negative, and has been fully vetted.
