My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bio Update 3/13/13: KIPTON is a 6.1 lb male Yorkie. He will be 11 years old on 04/01/2013.

Kipton is so special...so easy to love and want by your side. I look into his big brown eyes and I ask, "why doesn't anyone want you?"

He looks at me, and in that squeaky voice of his he says..."momma foster, maybe they think I am too old...maybe they think my eyes are too bad, and I won't know my way around...maybe they didn't like that I had a growth on the back of my tongue, and have one on my eye, and a couple on my back...or maybe because I have only one tooth...Could this be why?"

I tell this sweet angel that it can't be because...you are not too old to love somebody with all your heart! Even if your eyes go blind, you follow the sound of your mamma's voice, or feel her gentle touch...that the growth on your tongue was benign, just a taste bud that decided to grow. It just needs to be checked once a year. If it grows back, the doctor will just take it off, the same with the one on your eye. And, do you know how many people do not have teeth!!!...you still can eat, and Love To Eat!!

Kipton wants someone at home to cuddle with day & night.

He will learn to use the potty pad at his new home, but give him time. He will sleep all night with you, and not need to go out until morning. He learns your routine very quickly.

He gets along with other dogs. He's great with children 8 and older, but if younger children aren't running around or bothering him, he's fine.

Kipton can not go up or down stairs, I'm sure this has to do with his sight. He has problems with depth perception. He also has a cataract started on one eye. Daytime is pretty good, but he has a hard time at night.

I Love this little boy so much! He melts your heart!!! Kipton could stay with me forever...but then, I wouldn't be able to help the other puppy mill, abused, neglected, thrown away pups that NEED me...

Bio Update 1/3/13: Kipton is a 10.5 yr. old, 6.25 lb. Yorkie boy. He will be 11 yrs. old in April. Kipton had a vet appointment, along with Sawyer on 12/22/12. I noticed both were still having ear issues. Turns out, the yeast infection in their ears is now a bacterial infection. Both are now finishing up with the Mometamax ointment, and it looks like the ears are doing much better.

The side of Kipton's mouth, where his tongue hangs out, is still irritated and itches. Foster mom is still not quite sure if his gums are irritated, or if that mouth area is irritated from him licking it so often. Foster mom has started to soften his food to make it easier for him to chew, and we will take it from there. It is not a concern, just an annoying problem for Kipton.

In his picture, you can see a growth above the eye on the left. This is just a mole or wart like growth...aging will do that.

Kipton is doing really good with going to the bathroom outside. If no one is available to let him out, he uses the potty pad.

Because of Sawyer's “Special Needs”, the Sawyer and Kipton will be adopted separately, UNLESS, you are a stay-at-home person, and have experience with Special Needs yorkies/small breed dogs. Both of these Boys are such Loves!!

PLEASE READ KIPTON's PREVIOUS BIO. There is more information in it.

Bio Update: 12/16/2012: Kipton is a 10 yr. old, 6 lb. Yorkie boy. He had a vet visit on 12/05/12 because I noticed his ears, & the right side of his mouth were bothering him. Doctor did a through exam of Kipton's ears, mouth, eyes and listened to his heart. Kipton has a " yeast infection" in both ears. I have been putting Miconazole drops in both ears, and they are getting better. He also has "bacterial dermatitis" on the right side of his mouth. I was given Quadritop Ointment to treat this...it is now cleared up.

Kipton's eyes were checked for cataracts & glaucoma. There is "no" evidence of glaucoma, which is great! He does have "Lenticular Sclerosis, which makes his eyes look cloudy! This is due to getting older. Doctor did note an "early" cataract on the right eye, but no treatment is indicated at this time.

Kipton has lost most of his teeth, but it sure doesn't affect his chewing of hard food or treats. His tongue does hang out of his mouth due to the missing teeth, but it adds to his cuteness! At this vet visit, he was also microchipped & had a fecal test, which came back negative.

If you have a place in your life for Kipton, please fill out an application.

Initial Bio 12/01/12: Kipton is a sweet cuddly little 6#, 10.5 year old boy. He was adopted in June 2011, along with another foster of mine, Sawyer. The couple is very loving and caring, and it was so emotionally difficult for them to surrender the boys back to me.

It was found out, that both boys are extremely nervous around very young children. When friends started bringing 1, 2, & 3 year olds to their home, the quick movements, and grabbing at them, made Kipton & Sawyer so nervous that they would potty, and also started nipping at the child's feet. They are now expecting a baby, and had to make this very sad decision.

Kipton & Sawyer occasionally have/had issues when eating. If one was to close to the others food, a fight would start...at times there was blood drawn. You would never believe this with seeing the loving bond these two share.

I feed all the dogs at the same time, and have never seen this happen, and my dogs have tried to eat Kipton & Sawyer's food...BUT, I'm not saying it couldn't happen!

I have never kenneled the two, but I was informed that Sawyer gets very upset, to the point his breathing almost stops (he has heart disease). Kipton may be fine, if kenneled for a short period of time.

Kipton needs help with stairs. He is able to make it up one or two small ones, but can not go down them. So, he needs to be carried.

He needs some more work with house training. This would be more-so if he is left alone. He has been whimpering, & going to the door when he needs to go, but the new family would need to continue working with him.

Kipton is missing quite a few teeth, so his tongue does hang out. He does have a few in the back, so chewing dry food is not a problem.

The boys see the vet on Dec. 5th, so I will update their bios after.

Kipton & Sawyer will ONLY be adopted together if:
1. There is a caring person at home with them, that has Yorkie experience, lots of love to give, time & patience.

2. Will feed them a distance away from each other.

3. Have no children under the age of 10 living with or visiting, unless they have been raised with small dogs and have been taught how to treat them, & act around them.

They can be adopted separately, but I feel another dog is a must in the household, because they need that cuddling and closeness.
