My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Manda! She is from Taiwan. We call her our little reindeer as she is so gentle, timid, and ready for a new life. Manda has traveled across the globe to find her new, forever family!

Manda is a stunning medium-sized Shepherd-mix. Manda was left by a deserted river bed in a rural part of Taiwan. She was near death when a rescuer found her. Manda is one of those dogs that if she could talk, boy she would have such a story of survival and loneliness to tell. The vet hospital who treated beautiful Manda had a two year old child. The child and Manda became bonded and this was maybe the first kindness Manda had ever known. She was so special to them that her Taiwan advocates begged us to rescue Manda. Given that there are zero adoption families in Taiwan, their only option would have been to return gentle Manda back to the streets of Taiwan.

She is approximately 30 pounds and around 1-2 years old. She is gentle, she’s kind, and is so eager to please. Manda has been such a champ with her housebreaking skills. Manda has had zero accidents so far. She follows her fosters around the house and looks up at them with her most soulful eyes and grateful face. Manda walks great on the leash, but new noises can startle her. Our fosters are taking life slowly with her as to not overwhelm her to city life. Manda appears good with kids and other gentle dogs. We feel she will thrive with a family who will allow Manda to slowly blossom. If you are looking for a dog that will truly be your best friend and forever companion, please ask to meet Manda..

If you are looking for the true rescue experience and a dog that will show you endless gratitude for being a part of your family, then come meet Manda. Give the gift of life this holiday season. Your gift will grow and blossom for many years to come. These special angels have traveled many miles to find their forever family, and with your help, we are determined to give them all the second chance they so deserve!

One thing that every rescue dog has in common is a gratefulness for being given a second chance. Thankfully, in the US, there is a very large network of animal rescuers who can make that second chance happen. Sadly, this is not the case in many other countries around the world; countries where dogs are not valued or cherished; and are instead discarded in the streets like trash; left to die alone and scared; in many cases, after suffering horrific torture. Taiwan dogs have a special gentleness and gratitude about them. It is a privilege for our rescue to save them. In Los Angeles, many people will tell you that they have had the joy of adopting a dog from Taiwan. It is like a special club membership and a great conversation starter.
