Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Kameyo (kah-may-O), which is the symbol of the turtle in Japanese culture--a symbol of long life, came to us after spending the majority of her life as a puppy mill breeder to produce puppies for pet stores. She is 8-9 years old and looking forwards to a new life as a house pet. She is blind in her right eye as the optical nerve is detached but she has been seen by our eye specialist and does not require any ongoing care or treatment. Her other eye is perfectly healthy.
Kameyo can be vocal in her crate at first in a new situation. She would prefer a home with another calm dog that can show her the ropes. If crated initially near other dogs, this helps her relax and be quiet in her crate. She is good with other dogs and cats but shy of people. She needs a patient home that can let her come out of her shell at her own pace.
Kameyo is also learning to use a doggie door and doesn't have any escape tendencies with chain link fencing but we do not recommend her for an apartment as she is too cautious to take regular walks on a leash.
Kameyo's adoption fee is $175.00 which includes her spay, surgical dental, microchip, deworming and distemper vaccine.
