Hi, I’m Ruby!

I’m a playful 1 ½ year old hound mix, with a soft and shiny black and tan coat. I currently weigh 38lbs.
I’m a very pretty, well mannered lady, with all the makings of becoming a great addition to any family. I’m currently living with a foster family that includes 4 other dogs and a cat. I really like to play, and need a fair bit of exercise. I wasn’t walked a lot at my old house, so I’m still learning to walk nicely with a gentle leader harness.
I have a slightly protective nature when it comes to my bones, but with the help of my foster siblings, I’m learning to share! My foster mum is helping me with this too. My family has a pretty set schedule, so my house training is mostly complete… only a couple of accidents when I just couldn’t get their attention!
I’m growing fond of my crate, but don’t enjoy being in it all the time. It’s cozy at night, so that’s where I sleep. I like to relax with the door open when we spend time in the evenings, and don’t mind it periodically throughout the day if my foster parents need to go out! I’m still timid getting into the car, but once I’m in, I don’t mind taking car rides at all! If fact am very relax and love going to new places.

I’d really like a forever family that encourages my playful side by taking me for long walks or to the dog park where I can play with other dogs. I will do fine in a home by myself or with other dogs.

From what my foster family says, I really favour my foster dad, I get really excited when he comes home, and approach him most regularly for attention, praise, and lots of cuddles.

Ruby is available for adoption through Grand River All Breed rescue. Her adoption donation is $375. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered,
