Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Update 11/22/12: Meet Bernie!
Rescue volunteers swooped in and saved Bernie's very pregnant mom from a kill shelter. It's a good thing too, because the next day she gave birth to Bernie and his 4 other siblings! All are staying in a foster home.
Mom is a Tree Walker Coonhound-mix. She has a very sweet, submissive disposition and is around 60 lbs. We don't know who dad is. Bernie's coloring looks a lot like his mom's, but his fur is fluffier than most of his littermates! No idea what this boy is mixed with!
Bernie is the largest puppy in the litter. He looks like a pudgy teddy bear! Bernie is also the most outgoing in the litter. He likes to do 'play bows' and is often found dragging his blankets around the pen. What a naughty little pup!
Bernie was born on 10/21/12. He and his siblings can leave their mom when they are 8 weeks, so don't plan on taking Bernie home until after 12/9/12. We are posting Bernie and his littermates in hopes that we can line them all up for 'forever homes' ahead of time!
Bernie is currently papertrained and learning to eat solid food out of a dish. He is enjoying learning how to play with his brothers and sisters. His tail is always wagging. He is a super happy pup.
Interested in meeting and possibly adopting this puppy? Fill-out an online adoption application via www.sadiemaefoundation.org. $350 adoption donation, reference check and home visit are required prior to adoption. Once the puppy is of an age where s/he can be spayed/neutered, adopters will be refunded $50 when proof of spay/neuter is provided to the rescue.
While in the care of the Sadie Mae Foundation, all puppies are given age-appropriate vaccines and dewormed. Other medical treatments may be provided to puppies, depending upon their specific needs.
In addition, this animal has been microchipped for identification purposes through HomeAgain's® Chip FurKeeps program. Adopters are required to pay the additional one-time,$10.99 microchip registration fee (which lasts the lifetime of the animal) upon adoption.
Info. about Sadie Mae Foundation's adoption process Please note that we do not ship animals or do same-day adoptions. Additionally, we ordinarily limit adoptions to homes within CT or no more than an hour or so drive from Hartford, CT in order to be able to conduct a home visit and provide follow-up assistance when necessary. Exceptions are considered on a case-by-case basis.
We try to make our adoption process as easy and painless as possible, but please understand where we are coming from and all of the work that goes into rescuing and rehoming homeless animals. We don't want them to go through this again. Visit www.sadiemaefoundation.org to learn about the adoption process in detail.
