Here's what the humans have to say about me:
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY...that describes SUNNY. This girl has such a upbeat personality and a very positive outlook on life. Sunny is about 2 years old and weighs 35 pounds. She's a very compact girl and her back comes to just below my knee (and I'm 5'3). And, I know I'm not supposed to say it, but she is my absolute favorite dog at the ranch. Sunny loves everyone and anything that she meets- she's great with kids, cats, and other dogs. She even lived with a hamster in her last home and she loved him.
Sunny was turned into AC when she tried to get on the school bus with some elementary kids. No one knows where she came from...all we know is that she wanted to play with the kids. Sunny was previously adopted from us and was doing wonderful in her new home. She lived with a family of three and their hamster; she was especially bonded with the 12 year old autistic son in the family. Sunny is a pretty hyper girl, but she was so mellow when she was with the son; it was pretty amazing to watch them together. Unfortunately, the family had to give her back to us after experiencing some hards times (talk about a tear jerker!).
Sunny does have a previous shoulder injury, but she doesn't let it slow her down at all! Because of the injury, she cannot play fetch (even though it's one of her favorite games...she's a tennis ball thief) or be an agility dog. She does pretty good at self-moderating and she's incredibly easy to maintain. Take her for a few walks a day, play some tug, and give her some chew toys...that's all it takes to keep her content. Oh, and her food, she really really really enjoys her breakfast and dinner (plus any treats she can sneak between meal times).
Playing is Sunny's favorite thing to do during the day. I have to separate the dogs at night to remind them that they actually need some quiet time and get some sleep in. Sunny likes to go anywhere I go and she's great at hanging out in the car. We take her to the dog park a few times a week and that helps release some of her energy. We also take her on hikes with us and she's great at moderating herself and not doing anything to make her shoulder sore the next day. Sunny does wonderful in her crate and knows basic commands (she graduated from basic obedience earlier this year).
Sunny will do well in any household as long as she has an outlet for her energy.
PLEASE CONTACT s_smith_polo@yahoo.com to learn more and to request an application for adoption. It is our goal to make a great match between your family and one of our wonderful dogs.
Adoption fees range from $200-$250 for dogs. THE DOGS SHOWN ON THE SITE ARE IN FOSTERCARE - WE DO NOT HAVE A SHELTER TO VISIT. EMAIL is the best way to reach us. We are a volunteer run, very small organization - so please be patient when waiting for a response, but feel free to check back in if you haven't heard from us in a day or so - thank you so much for considering a rescued pooch!
